Eagle Bridge

Eagle Bridge is an important crossroad and bridge in the center of Sofia. The bridge was built over the Perlovska River. His name comes from the bronze figures of eagles on the bridge, which are his symbolic patrons and defenders. It is next to the Vasil Levski National Stadium, the Soviet Army Monument and the Boris Garden.

After the entrance to Sofia from east direction on Tsarigradsko shosse, the bridge is the first crossroad, whereby it enters the very center of the city. Here, in March 1878, the Bulgarian prisoners and detainees were liberated by Diyarbakir, the event today resembles a modest stone block set in the 90s by the municipality.
